Lisa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and NYS Psychotherapist with more than 15 years of experience working with children and families. She specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety and depression. Lisa has maintained a private practice while working in various therapeutic facilities over the years. She has held esteemed positions with the Jewish Board of Family and Children Services, Flushing Hospital’s Out Patient Counseling Department, Jamaica and Syosset Hospitals and spent eight years as a senior clinician working at Cohen Children’s Medical Center Eating Disorders day program. Most recently, Lisa has been a counselor with Jewish Orthodox School for girls. She concentrates on helping the girls with self-esteem, academic performance as well as assisting in navigating life’s challenges and to better cope with social pressure and stress. Lisa’s compassion, psychological understanding and behavioral interventions are key to changing people’s lives. She has an eclectic approach that incorporates techniques and philosophies from CBT, DBT, family systems, interpersonal and play therapy.
