Endeavor @Crestwood

For some children and teens, the skills they work on in therapy can be harder to use when they are navigating friendships, group activities, transitions, frustration, and the everyday demands of being with peers.

Endeavor @Crestwood is our integrated summer program at Crestwood Day Camp, designed for children and teens who can participate successfully in a traditional camp setting but benefit from additional support with ADHD, executive functioning, anxiety, social challenges, emotional regulation, flexibility, or frustration tolerance.

Same camp. Same experience. The right support.

Endeavor campers participate in the full Crestwood experience with the added structure, staffing, coaching, and support they need to be successful. The goal is not to separate campers from typical camp life, but to give them the support necessary to participate, build friendships, become more independent, and have a successful summer.

What Makes Endeavor Different

Endeavor provides additional support within the camp experience rather than creating a separate therapeutic program. Campers are grouped by age and participate in activities, trips, special events, and the social experiences that make summer camp meaningful.

Our groups have additional staffing and are led by professionals who understand ADHD, executive functioning, anxiety, social challenges, and emotional regulation. Support happens in real time, when campers are actually navigating friendships, transitions, competition, disappointment, independence, and the unexpected moments that are part of camp.

Depending on the camper, support may include:

  • Smaller group ratios and additional staff support
  • Coaching around friendships and social situations
  • Help managing frustration, impulsivity, and strong emotions
  • Support with transitions, flexibility, and changes in plans
  • Strategies for organization and executive functioning
  • Collaboration with parents when needed
  • Encouragement of independence and self-advocacy

The goal is for campers to receive the support they need without feeling defined by it.

Who Is Endeavor For?

Endeavor @Crestwood is designed for children and teens who are able to participate in a traditional day camp experience but may need more support than a typical camp group can provide.

The program may be a good fit for campers who:

  • Have ADHD or executive functioning challenges
  • Experience anxiety in social or group situations
  • Have difficulty navigating friendships or reading social situations
  • Become easily frustrated, impulsive, or emotionally overwhelmed
  • Struggle with flexibility, transitions, or unexpected changes
  • Have had difficulty finding consistent success in a traditional camp setting, or would benefit from additional support to make the most of the camp experience
  • Would benefit from additional structure, coaching, and staff support while still participating in a typical camp experience

Because every child is different, we speak with families before enrollment to learn about the camper and determine whether Endeavor @Crestwood is an appropriate fit.
